Dune for the HolidaysNow that I've been home for a week, enjoying my own home, my own pets, and sleeping in my own bed, I'm catching up on a lot of loose ends. One of my most enjoyable projects is to reread Frank Herbert's original DUNE (which I do just about every year). I have no idea how many times I've read it, but each time it holds up as a true classic, and I see more and more cross-connected details. I have listened to the unabridged DUNE on audio in four different versions -- the current edition from MacMillan audio is excellent, if you would like to have someone read the novel aloud to you. For those who missed seeing me and Brian on our recent signing tour, The Signed Page still has a few autographed copies of PAUL OF DUNE available for sale -- some of them signed by cover artist Stephen Youll as well. Brian is in the midst of the fourth edit of JESSICA OF DUNE, and I'll receive it back from him around December 15. The current schedule is to have JESSICA in stores this coming August, back to our regular schedule (PAUL was released in September 2008). Stephen Youll has already sent us the cover image and -- as usual -- it's a real grabber. We'll show it off here as soon as it's ready. -- KJA
