A New Afterword for Dune Messiah 

Many Dune fans have been thrilled to learn that Berkley/Penguin is republishing the entire Frank Herbert "Dune" series in hardcover. Dune has always been available in this format, and now Berkley will begin republishing the other five that my father wrote, beginning with Dune Messiah.

For this new edition of the novel that Dad always referred to as "Messiah," I have been asked to write an afterword, similar to the one I wrote for the 40th Anniversary Edition of Dune, which was published in 2005. In the afterword, I will provide an expanded analysis of the most controversial and misunderstood of Frank Herbert's novels. We do not yet have an actual release date for the new hardcover.
