British Cover for "Hunters"

Here is a special treat for your Christmas Eve (or your "holiday celebrations" of whatever flavor you choose). We have just received the cover painting that will appear on the UK edition of HUNTERS OF DUNE, to be published by Hodder & Stoughton.

The British paintings and cover designs always take a completely different approach to the US editions. (Different markets prefer different things.) This illustration is rather stylized and relates to only a very minor scene in the book, but it's eye-catching and eerie.

Brian and I did not have any input beforehand on the UK cover art, unlike the collaborative process we have with Stephen Youll for the US covers. Our Hodder editor, Carolyn Caughey, is perfectly amenable to let Brian or me make suggestions or changes, but this is the artwork we have happily accepted. I hope it makes your imaginations start working overtime.

By New Years, I plan to post Stephen Youll's HUNTERS cover painting as well.
